BBC 1 Morning Live
Mark joins BBC 1 Morning Live as the gardening expert. Joining Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones, Mark will give handy tips on BBC 1 Morning Live on gardening, how to use household goods and equipment with either no cost or very little cost to viewers.
Lockdown and closures across the UK have meant that more people have found solace in their gardens, gardening, local parks and open spaces. Mark, who lives with co-morbid depression, knows first hand the importance of gardens and outdoor spaces for our personal, mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Mark says:
I am really excited to bring my gardening and plant knowledge and expertise to BBC 1 viewers. I know that we are all looking closely at our pennies and pounds, and I hope to show viewers that by using household goods, liquids and equipment, we can all enjoy gardening both indoors and outdoors for very little or no cost at all. It doesn’t matter whether you have a garden or not, gardening is a great way to help with our physical and mental wellbeing. I live with depression, and I am happy to share my experiences with viewers, and show that by getting hands dirty in the soil, or getting some fresh air surrounded by the natural world, can help lift our mood, focus our attention and be mindful of our actions. I love plants and gardening, and I want to share this love and passion during these unprecedented times.
