Landscape Design for Sankey Street, Warrington, Cheshire, UK

Landscape design for commercial development with Fairhome Group and David Cox Architects

An exciting opportunity to create a landscape design for the external spaces for a mixed-use development on Sankey Street in Warrington, Cheshire, UK.

Working alongside Fairhome Group, KrolCorlett Construction, David Cox Architects and Sherratt Landscape Contractors using the JCT Design & Build form of contract, to create a low-maintenance landscape design that is functional, accessible and aesthetically pleasing, while in keeping with the local environment and the surrounding architecture.

Using a mix of shrubs, ornamental trees and mixed herbaceous planting the garden sits comfortably alongside the granite setts and resin-bound aggregate pathways. A sinuous pathway leads you through the main landscape design space with accent planting, while colour, scent and texture enhance the landscape design leading towards the front of the property and access to the building. Trees, herbaceous perennials and flowering shrubs add interest for 12 months of the year and create a perfect biophilic requirement.

Warrington is an exciting area for development. It is an area of high wage – low welfare;  it has the highest employment rate in UK and the largest commuter catchment outside the M25. It is also the Best Performing ‘City’ in the North West. It has the third highest business growth in the UK and is the second best for Quality of Life in the UK.
