Modern front garden design with enticing curves and floating beds

Modern front gardens are tricky to get right, especially when thinking about space for parking. This is a low-maintenance modern front garden. An existing block driveway and ranch-style wooden fence remain, as do two mature trees. The space is practical for a busy family, has great kerb-appeal but is minimal effort to maintain. A series of varied height raised beds in a warm hardwood, to tie in with the hardwood double garage door appear to float, leading your eye to the front door. A sweeping hardwood edge defines the driveway and links up to two new entrance posts in graphite grey with hardwood detail and hidden LED lighting. Within the raised beds two graphite grey ‘floating’ square beds conceal additional LED lighting to illuminate areas and to add an extra dimension to the scheme, especially at night. On the opposite side of the driveway a similar but varied element is a ‘floating’ square bed in hardwood resting on a graphite grey plinth. Additional parking is added by removing a strip of grass and incorporating a gravel-stabilization product with complementary gravel. A new path leads round to the side of the property with an integrated parcel post box. Planting is low maintenance with a mix of ornamental grasses, perennials and herbs.
