A fully inclusive design for a new housing development

Housing development of 16 apartments for people aged 55 and above. Inside, the apartments will be designed for all abilities. This is an exciting housing development project to develop a modern garden space that is fully accessible and inclusive to all, whether for residents, friends or visitors. The modern garden is to be an extension of the development. Although the rear garden will be dominated by large parking area, in order to maximise on the views of the bay beyond, the car park will be partially covered with a living green roof. As soon as you leave the housing development building, the garden is a welcoming space with an entertaining / social area with a large table and benches and an outdoor kitchen. A pathway with edges will lead you through a naturalistic garden, around the car park, disguised with the use of hedging that collects exhaust particles, making the garden a greener space to a productive garden. The entire site will be designed to allow residents to either socialise, garden together or grow their own food for their kitchen or to share in the communal outdoor kitchen. As the site will be levelled, raising the height of the garden, pleached trees will be used to blur the edges and form a natural screen to neighbouring properties.

To the front, a sweeping driveway will circle a large feature, such as a water feature or a piece of sculpture, setting off the high-end, quality facade and 16 apartments.
