A contemporary courtyard with a sleek design

The developer of this apartment building wanted an individual, bespoke, sleek, contemporary courtyard for every ground floor apartment, with a high-end spa-like feel to each. Taking inspiration from Japanese gardens in particular all furniture is mounted on a composite deck with low faux rattan backed sofas with large cushions, a central fire outdoor fire feature, as well as a large oval cocoon seat. All of the seating is on wheels and a lattice framework of acacia wood.

Outdoor niwaki cloud bonsai trees pick up on the high-end spa look and feel, adding a sense of drama to these contemporary courtyards. The almost white brick slips used for the rear wall and boundary walls are strong features and add to the contemporary look.

Grey porcelain tiles in two different sizes create a clear space for dining. An outdoor kitchen with long granite bar counter and bar stools in faux rattan, link harmoniously with the granite topped dining table and faux backed dining chairs. A the foot of the rear wall are tall, narrow planters in dark grey with minimal verdant planting, while large feature rocks, wall lights and floor lights create a modern feel while using traditional-looking materials.

This contemporary courtyard design is clean, crisp, inviting, relaxing and minimal.
