Cottage garden over 3 phases with borders brimming with flowers

Cottage garden, pond water garden, orchard, patio garden, vegetable garden and conifer beds completed over several years, to spread the cost, the overall design for this Kentish Granary, in agreement with the client, is broken down in to 3 phases. The small lake is re-contoured, with the addition of a wooden boardwalk and wooden jetties with handrails, taking in to account a natural seating position under a large willow. The rest of the third of an acre garden is designed with: a central winding path with a metal canopy half way along its length as a focal point and for the client to enjoy the scent from the climbing roses and sweet jasmine; a large conifer bed; a vegetable garden; a hot-tub corner; and an orchard. Throughout the garden there are 12 seating positions, some hidden, others in plain view, but all take in views of the garden and the stunning rolling hills and fields that surround the property. The garden sits within the landscape, borrowing the surrounding farmland to create a larger-looking outdoor space. While many of the plants used in the garden fall under the cottage garden style, by mixing some with native plants and grasses, the planting blends seamlessly into the natural environs.
